The supply rate schedule changes won’t begin until August 2024. To put this in perspective, the average MA home uses about 600 kWh of energy per month. So National Grid monthly supply charges will rise from about $84 a month to about $109 a month. And Eversource customers may see supply charges rise even higher that the current estimated average of $96.

That’s because the weather is mild, heating and cooling systems are left off, and energy demand is low. And when demand is low, prices tend to drop as well.
