Problems with Fees and Charges (505 reviews)
3-year fixed rate, budget certainty
“ I'm in the PPL territory and I signed up for their Clean 36 plan. 3 year fixed rate with no fees or penalties. I like knowing exactly what my rate will be every month, especially when rates are high and expected to just go higher, over time. They sent me an email letting me know that my plan is 100% clean energy and that they're protecting 50 trees in the rainforest for every customer. Not bad. Think has a referral program where you can get long-term discounts on your rate for referring friends/family. Haven't used it yet, but will. ”

Super easy
“ The whole process was super easy. I confirmed my address and identity. Enrolled in one of their plans. And on the second billing cycle, my new rate was updated. I can't believe how easy it was. Eversource charged nearly double of what direct energy charges for supply. I'm still paying eversource on delivery because they own the infrastructure but these crooks are getting less of my money. Everyone in CT needs to shop around for supply. They often don't know that you can choose your supplier and simply bend over to eversource and their price gouging. I will shop around again once my term is up. ”

No problems for 13 years...knock on wood.
“ I've had Direct Energy at my apartment for nearly 13 years and have had no problems whatsoever with them. I had a contract with them when they were Houston-based, but when a Canadian firm bought them out, they refunded my $250.00 deposit with credits during the summer of 2012 and have been month to month since. My rates have been ok, around 11 cents/kwh, maybe 14 during the summer add Centerpoint carrying charges and taxes and it comes to around 21 cents/kwh on a monthly basis. They try to get me to go for "free nights" but there's no such thing as free electricity. All in all, Direct Energy is one of the best deals out there, with very little interruptions and great service. ”
